How long can I stay in STA facilities?

The NDIS funds up to 28 days of STA per year. However, how you choose to distribute these over the period of one year is completely up to you. Keep in mind, you can take up to 14 consecutive days at a time under STA services.

How often can I use STA services?

The frequency at which you want to use STA fully depends on your specific needs and NDIS plan.

Is STA or short term accommodation same as respite care?

STA offers temporary accommodation to provide informal support to participants when their carers are on a break (or respite) from daily caregiving. Keep in mind, STA is not designed for emergency accommodation purposes.

Can I use an STA accommodation I like?

Absolutely!
However, whether you can get accommodation at that particular STA home depends on availability.

Can I take the help of my support coordinator to arrange for formal supports?

You have the total flexibility to arrange for formal supports by coordinating with your support coordinator. If you want us to choose support workers for you, we can do that as well.
